Kiwi CD

Kiwi

I drive a Kia Picanto which was given the name Kiwi by it’s previous owner. Kiwi doesn’t have an audio input so the only way to listen to your music is by using the CD player.

When making a CD to use in the car I thought it would be a fun project to create a CD cover that complemented the car.

To create my front cover I used Adobe illustrator, I started by using a image of my car which I traced using the pen and image trace tools to create vector shapes. I used the google play logo as a fill for the car as it is the place that I get most of my music from.

I also created my own logo that mirrored the original style of Kia logo. To create this I used a similar font to the one used in the Kia logo, I then moved the anchor points on the individual letters to recreate the pointed ends found in the Kia logo typeface.

To finish I combined all the elements to create the final graphic (the image at the top of the post) which I then placed in an indesign document to create the CD case to print.
